Émile Mathier travaille avec des cadres recyclés, leur offrant une nouvelle vie à travers son art. Son processus créatif repose sur le mix-média, utilisant des matériaux variés tels que l'acrylique, les crayons de cire, la gouache, l'encre, la peinture aérosol et le pastel. Chaque médium, dans sa texture et son rendu, dialogue avec l’autre, créant des compositions riches et dynamiques. Son travail se concentre principalement sur le portrait abstrait. Il explore la déconstruction de l’image humaine afin de capturer les émotions et tensions qui traversent ce sujet. En jouant avec la forme, la couleur et la matière, il cherche à révéler l’essence de l’individu au-delà des contours définis du visage, offrant une nouvelle interprétation de
l’identité et de l’intimité humaine.
Pratiquant depuis plusieurs années, son style a constamment évolué au gré de ses expérimentations. S'il explore divers médiums, sa pratique reste centrée sur la peinture. Il priorise la liberté de création et le lâcher-prise. Son objectif n’est pas d’atteindre un réalisme parfait, mais avant tout de prendre plaisir à créer. Each medium, in its texture and rendering, interacts with the other, creating rich and dynamic compositions. His work focuses primarily on abstract portraiture. He explores the deconstruction of the human image to capture the emotions and tensions that permeate this subject. By playing with form, color, and material, he seeks to reveal the essence of anatomy beyond the defined contours of the face, offering a new interpretation of human identity and intimacy. Having practiced for several years, his style has constantly evolved through his experiments. While he explores various mediums, his practice remains centered on painting. He prioritizes creative freedom and letting go. His goal is not to achieve perfect realism, but above all to enjoy what he creates and the process behind it. Each canvas invites continuous exploration, offering a different interpretation with each glance. The viewer's eye travels through the composition, constantly discovering new details.
